The choir “Little Singers of Armenia” was founded in June 1992 under the auspices of the International Children’s Association “Armenian Little Singers” and the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Yerevan, Armenia. It unites 70 gifted children selected from the music schools of the capital and the nearest regions. The choir participates actively in the cultural life of the Republic and performs in charity concerts in Armenia and abroad. Its repertoire contains medieval, folk, sacred, classical, contemporary, pop and jazz musical pieces.

“Little Singers of Armenia”, gold medal winners at the San Francisco International Competition, are in rout to Minneapolis, Minnesota to participate in the International Choral Festival, a public outreach program of the Sixth World Symposium on Choral Music. Sixty public performances by some of the world’s most acclaimed choirs will take place from August 2-10, 2002. Among the choirs will be Brazil’s number one pop recording group, Garganta Profunda. Several youth choirs will perform, including Mendoza Children’s Choir from Argentina, Little Singers of Armenia, Red Leaf Children’s Choir from China, Gifu High School Choir from Japan, Namibia National Youth Choir and Michigan State University Children’s Choir.
