Brian is Founder/Director of the Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting Workshop in Tuscany, Italy for music educators and conductors, and Director of Choral Activities at Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts. He is also on the Music Education faculty of both The Boston Conservatory where he teaches Graduate Choral Methods, and UMass/Lowell where he teaches Vocal Pedagogy.

Former teaching positions held include Chair of Voice Department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Director of Choral Activities at Tufts University, Guest Conductor Northeastern University. Developed curriculum and taught graduate choral conducting at New England Conservatory , choral methods/conducting at Boston University. Lead Teacher as part of the BU/Chelsea Partnership.

Former Director of the Handel & Haydn Youth ChorusCambridge Chorale, Nashua Choral Society and other choral societies. Premiered works by Kacinskas, Levine, Maloof, Prosser, and other composers.

Vocal studies with David Blair McCloskey and Robert Gartside. Performance studies with Lucas Foss, John Gibbons and Peter Phillips. Performances with Handel & Haydn Society and Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

In 2005, Brian was the first recipient of the Massachusetts ACDA Choral Excellence Award. Other awards include: the Lithuanian Presidents Medal in Chicago (1985), Boston University Consortium Scholarship (1992), Boston University/Chelsea Partnership Scholarship (1991), Lexington Education Foundation Grant (1994-5) to develop a jazz choral curriculum and to study with Peter Phillips of the Tallis Scholars in Rimini, Italy (2003).

Frequent festival conductor, adjudicator and clinician. Past President Massachusetts ACDA.
