The 2015 program appropriately fell within 2 days of the Universal Children’s Day (November 20) and was dedicated to the sombre century of 1915-2015. Traditionally participants with Armenian heritage may perform any work they choose while children who are of non-Armenian heritage must perform at least one work by an Armenia composer. This year the entire program was based on works by Armenian composers and poets.
Joining the program was the accomplished musician Jasmin Atabekyan from Greece on the piano and her 13 year old daughter, Emily Gasparyan, on the violin. Ms. Jasmin Atabekyan is the winner of France’s prestigious Pierre Lantier- Ober Piano Competition in Paris, Aram Khachaturian Competition in Yerevan, Armenia and several other international competitions.
