Composer Levon Chaushyan was an “Honored Artist of Armenia” a title he received because of his great works and his advocacy of Armenian culture. His symphonic, instrumental, chamber and vocal works are widely published and performed all over the world. Chaushyan was a founding member of Armenian Musical Assembly with the goal of promoting modern Armenian music. He was Deputy Chair of the Union of Composers of Armenia, chairman and jury member of many international competitions and festivals, and as a professor at the Komitas Conservatory he helped educate many young composers.
